About Me

Who’s Behind the Wandering?

I’m Briana — a mountain girl from North Carolina who’s built a life around chasing new experiences and embracing the unexpected. Travel isn’t just something I do; it’s how I connect, learn, and keep things interesting. From exploring cities, temples, and beaches to chasing sunsets, hiking volcanoes, and running half marathons, I’m always ready for the next adventure.

After graduating college, I moved to Berlin and spent a year really getting to know the city from the inside out. From there, I took a quick pause in the U.S., then spent a month backpacking around Albania before heading to Southeast Asia. That one-way ticket turned into months of travel through Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Singapore — where I fell in love with the pace of backpacking, the richness of new cultures, and the friendships that pop up in the most unexpected places.

Why I Travel

I travel because it makes the world feel both massive and oddly connected. It pushes me out of autopilot and reminds me there’s always more to learn — about people, politics, languages, and myself. I’m in it for the conversations, the chance to see how people live, and the way culture shows up in the everyday details. I love finding hidden (and not-so-hidden) gems, learning to keep things simple, and collecting the kinds of memories that stick with you.

What This Blog Is About

This blog is where I share travel guides, stories, and notes on politics abroad — offering a deeper look at the places I visit and what it’s like to experience them up close. It’s part travel diary, part practical guide, and part reflection on the unexpected moments and experiences that make wandering worthwhile.

No promises about what’s next — just excited to keep wandering and bring you along <3
